Simple question - who is for or against using these glorified ping pong courts in competition.

Sid - AGAINST.

FOR - I'd rather play on a good grass pitch but in a country where councils maintain their parks with minimum effort and wet and freezing winters, 3g parks guarantee games on a flat surface. Most clubs train on it so there shouldn't be a problem on a Saturday if they have to play on it.

If scotland was a country which had planty of decent grass parks I would say against. But were not. Most grass parks are quite poor. The ones that arent are long snapped up... or owned by Universities. 3G/4G is the ONLY way forward unless we ramp up our efforts to screw with Global Warming and get us some more sunshine!

You would not finish the amateur football season without them.

Wonder how they managed to finish the season before these parks were invented?

I agree they should be used if parks are unplayable but teams shouldn't be allowed to use them all season. If grass parks are playable they should always be used.

Just out of curiosity, when would you start and finish your winter break? We didn't really have a bad December and January this year but I would say November and February will be worse for getting games on. I don't see the point on a winter break as we just need to try and get games on when it is possible.

I'm for 3G as the state of the parks in Ayrshire are a disgrace and with nobody looking after them they will only get worse. Only problem being that we don't have enough 3G parks and they are quite expensive to play on every other week.
