******Posted on behalf of a friend*********

My mates sunday team had a player sent off last weekend for a headbutt however referee then called the player and secretary to his dressing room to advise he was putting it in as a stamp and a headbutt which could end up as a six month ban however both managers and players never saw this stamp only the headbutt

How would he go about proving that this stamp never happened ???
He has yet to recieve the suspension letter however thay want to know how they sort this ???

Thanks

Sean Goalie

If its a stamp, it's a stamp. Simple. The referee will put it in his report.. I don't see why it should be reduced if he did do it.

One of our players, got a red card for a head butt in the last game of season 2009/10, and he received a ONE YEAR ban. So if your said player only gets 6 months for a headbutt and alleged stamp, he should thank himself lucky !!

If the ref has reported a headbutt, the player will be cited to attend the National Disciplinary Committee (South) at Hampden. The referee will be requested to attend the hearing. The player may submit written evidence from witnesses in support of his case.

If found guilty : headbutt - maximum sentence 18 months
Stamping on the body is a fixed penalty of 8 matches but stamping on the head carries a maximum of 5 years
