Have heard that they are looking to bring in 8 new clubs and create 3 divisions. No idea how it will be restructured though and haven't heard of any teams that may be joining.

This is quite interesting for the cally, as the league used to have 3 divisions a few years ago and it was changed due to not
enough teams to form 3 meaningful divisions, genuinley hope it works out

, grnuinlry hopr it works out

They should scrap the idea better with 2 Leagues adding a lot of teams wont work in my opinion.

I suppose it all depends of which teams the league actually attracts...

Can I just add a bit here?
we play in the Glasgow Sunday and a load of new teams joined this season, which gives us 3 divisions of 12 and one of 10. Each division is incredibly competitive and some right good teams have joined the bottom two divisions, making each one hard to call.
Not a bad thing to have 3 divisions, especially when it comes to cup games.

i didnt know league committees could invite teams to join a certain league as doesnt it need to be passed by all existing club members before a new team can join a league

Did it not used to be the case the Caley League was invite only? My Dad was the Secretary for years and I'm sure that's what he used to say!

These days leagues are not meant to invite or poach clubs. I cant beleive a leage as established as the caley would make the mistake of inviting teams. They'd be in both with SAFA if they did that. Saw on their website at the start of the season they were asking teams to express an interest. Dont know the ins and outs of league politics but imagine some of these so called invited teams must have made enquiries. I have been told its the teams that must make the decision to leave their leagues and would only do that if they knew they would be allowed in elsewhere. Trying to get a grip of this thread I think theres a wee bit if mischief making going on! It will be interesting to see who ends up where. The Central always seems to get new teams and they must always just have applied to join?

Broomhouse have a great youth set up and would make a useful amateur team I would imagine. Seen Third Lanark twice this season and think Cally would be big step for them and they're pitch (Peter Brownlie Cambuslang) is woeful. Stirling City have struggled in Fosters Central so can't see them enhancing the Cally league. Seen Cambria V Eastvale in Scottish and was impressed by them and with the facilities they have to offer and the ethos of the club think they would grow in the Cally.

Have you guys applied then? :D

I think they should take into account how well you have done in your first couple of seasons, the fact you are a new team shouldnt matter. Especially if you also have good facilities as you say, all teams need to start somewhere. We had to start in the West of Scotland League

as far as i know we havent... my point there was i think they are looking for long established sides and that could put us off if its true... i agree though, i know we would make the league better because were a good footballing side and the backing we have is great... we play on a 4g park just now but theres plans been passed to build us an indoor 4g aswell so not even the snow will put our game off... we will have choice of indoor or outdoor every home game

It maybe stirling th,dont know much about them or broomhouse but the caley league will only let clubs in who have half decent facilities so cambria are a shoe in.Third lanark even though are trying to get back to cathkin park wont get in.

If it is strling thistle i would be surprised. no offence to them but i think the calley would prove too challenging. not exactly lighting up the 1st division of the S&D and are not premier material.
