What happens if a opposition player who has been sent off snaps a corner flag in half, Does the game get abandoned??
I can't see anything in rules about this.

One for our referee friends I think! Mind you it would be a brave referee who abandoned a match for this reason 5 minutes before full time if, for example an away player broke the flag post and the home team were a couple of goals ahead.

It was 10 mins Into the game. The corner flag was put back in obviously only half of it. Our ref didn't seem to care and now it's the principle.

Total guess here, but do flags have a pre-requisite height? If not then half a flag would have done...

Game moves on. I would suspect the player could have received a second red for his actions though and also fined for the damages to the flag (or the team fined)

If the Laws of the Game were to cover every eventuality on a football pitch they would need to be about 6 inches thick and be bound tightly ... At first I thought this post (no pun intended) was a wind up. I always say think about things logically, do we really want games being abandoned every time an eejit does something stupid. I would imagine any ref worth his salt would just get on with the game for the benefit of the remainder of the players who just want to play football (and not break corner flags)

Corner flags do have to be a minimum height so half a flag wouldn't meet that unless the first flag was double the regulation size lol!

I would remove the half a flag as it could present danger if someone fell on it, continue the game and put in a report about what happened. I'd consider maybe trying to get another flag if it was a council run pitch with a store room etc.

It was pointed out to me by a junior teams commitee member who was watching the game. Trying to keep ourself right incase we get pulled up for either not replacing(don't have another one) it or calling game off incase it hurts a player. According to rules flags must be at least 5ft

Yeah, it makes more sense to remove the corner flag and continue with the game to avoid injury. That being said, some amateur and juniors teams flags definetely aren't 5ft, or if they are I must be about 7ft tall ;)
