Aye Dan staying with Aikenhead mate. Not 100% sure what we have lined up in friendlies, think we have 1 or 2 junior teams pencilled in, Partick thistle 19's/reserves, kilpatrick afc. Not sure who (if any) have confirmed. Just back pre-season this weel though - barely seems like we had a break!! lol

Saturday 16th July 2011

Drumchapel United AFC 2-2 Pollok Junior FC, Glasgow Green Astrograss.

Good start for preperation for the new season, good crowd to see 2 teams play good football against each other, all in all both Managers will be happy with thier teams performances on the day as both teams had chances to win the game.

It was obvious both teams lacked match fitness but both sides got a good run out From our point of view a good start.

Gartcosh Utd 2 Cambria 2

Excellent pre season work out for these local rivals at Eastgate this evening. Cambria dominated the earlier exchanges and missed 3 presentable opportunities in first 20 mins. Gartcosh scored against run of play on 26 mins and then added a second on 45 mins after slack defensive play by Cambria.

Second half was more even in terms of possession and chances but Cambria managed to get themselves level with 2 goals in a 10 minute spell.

All in all, a very worthwhile exercise. Both teams have signed some talented new players and decent seasons await on this evidence.

Friendly Result Wed 20/7/11

Arthurlie Junior FC 1-2 Drumchapel United AFC

Another good result against Junior opposition with all the goals coming during the 1st half, Arturlie Juniors took the lead , only for 2 goals in a minute from Thomas Murray & Chris Craig seen Drumchapel United AFC take the lead, the Arthurlie Junior goalkeeper was the busiest player on the park with a few good saves to keep the score down, he also saved a penalty from Chris Craig in the 2nd half.

Manager John Black and Coach Gordon Cameron are both very happy with the standard of fitness and play from all the guys so early on during pre-season.
