We had ref Kenny rodgers yesterday had him a couple of times before this guy is a breath of fresh air. Anybody that knows me it takes a lot for a ref to impress me

He turn up about 1pm for 2.30pm ko very smartly dressed did all his checks had a chat with everybody did a warm up himself for over 30 mins very professional to be fair there is some refs like this also but tend to ruin the game with being over picky and stopping the game every 30 seconds and thinking its all about them very unfit standing in the middle having to guess at some and with a school teacher attitude.

Not this ref he let the game flow had a word with players in passing was up with play all match and reffed the game with common sense, if there is any young refs wanting to be a top and and earn respect come and watch this guy excellent credit to our league.

Restored my faith in refs that want to ref games of football and not be a big part of it, this is not because we won he gave a fifty fifty penatly and played 7 minutes injury when we where 3-2 up so i wasnt happy with that but all in all he is a credit to amateur football and refs

We had a woman ref a few weeks ago, her name is Louise McWhinnie, and we had a laugh and sniggered like weans that "the ref was a burd" but she controlled the game excellently, a hard fought cup tie with a few flashpoints that she dealt with easily, just by speakin to guys like adults and without a superiority complex she calmed these situations and barely had to show a card to keep people in check! And in a fast tempo game it never got ahead of her. We eventually won on penalties but not before having a goal chopped off wrongly in the dying minutes of the game but you can accept an honest mistake, we are all only human!
We are quick to berate the centre circle refs and the power trippers so its only fair we show our appreciation for refs like this, and hope we get more of them coming through our leagues!

I agree. There are more good refs than bad ones out there. People tend to major on referee's mistakes but completely ignore their ow! Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone! lol

Just a question all, do you think referees should post comments etc on this forum ? Personally i think they should be neutral / unbiased and should refrain from this scenario.

I make a point of not commenting on referee performances good or bad and agree in some respects that referees need to be careful in what opinions are expressed on Open Forum however I dont think it is necessary to ask referees not to post at all as there are certain issues that are/have been resolved by the input from referees .
