Nope cannot play junior or under 21s and play amateur. You were entitled to compensation I'd just signed and played all season for you

under what rule? he is still of amateur status so offically still an amateur! i know junior clubs do not like their players to play sunday but what they like and what are allowed are two different things. Yes we would be entitled to compensation and also we still hold his registration so am i correct in saying we need to release that for him to be signed?

Under the safa rules. Yeah but if he has signed then someone has let him go as can't be signed at both levels

Don't think you can get compensation for an amateur player. Junior forms take preference to amateur forms and junior sides may only give you a courtesy call to inform you they are signing your amateur player. This has happened to my sides on several occasions in recent seasons.
Even though he signs amateur forms for junior side you DEFO CAN'T PLAY HIM. If you do you face hefty punishment. Be warned.

Cleland is correct. Under SAFA Rules, a player signed as a Junior (or Senior or Youth) cannot play for an SAFA Club either Saturday or Sunday. But before he was registered as a Junior his SAFA registration should have been cancelled. Courtesy calls from the Junior club to the Amateur Club are not sufficient. However, if a Junior club wish to play an SAFA player as a Trialist they can do so by giving the Amateur Club 5 days notice. This would allow the player to play in a League match for the Juniors while still registered with the Amateur Club. To play for a Junior club in a Cup match he would have to have his Amateur Club registration cancelled and be registered for the Junior club.

No compensation due if he signs as an amateur with the Junior club (SFA Rules).
