Could anyone tell me if a Scottish Cup game is postponed 3 times in a row, is the fixture reversed?

Thanks

Michael

normally but if a certain percent of games are also cancelled say due to weather then it normally doesnt count to one of the 3 postponements. Eg. If 80% Of all scottish amateur cup games are called off because weather then that would not normally count to the 1 in 3 strike rule. I think the safa can rule on it themselves though...

The rule says the Match Secretary will consider the circumstances of the postponements and may reverse the fixture after three postponements. So the rule is not hard and fast

I'm Match Sec for the West Cup and there we operate on the basis that if at least one of your postponements was on a fixture date when 50% or more of the listed fixtures were postponed you will get a fourth shot at getting the match played. After that it is automatically reversed.

I am not aware of a formula like this being applied in the other competitions. In the Scottish Cup the Match Secretary sometimes switches after three sometimes he doesn't. It depends on his reading of the circumstances tie by tie and what he thinks is reasonable.

Cheers guys, I'll need to see how this Saturday pans out. Not looking forward to having plans for Campbeltown away cancelled for the 3rd or 4th time in a row
