Will be good for the Dirrans to get a game after the last couple of weeks. League, as ever, is their priority.
All the best to Dirrans but I think the Premier team really must be favourites on their own pitch, WK Admirer? What's your view having watched their form?

Fantastic result for the Dirrans the day. I wiz quietly confident that they could go to Kilbride and win, but no to the tune of 5-0,must have been some performance.Season ahead looking good for the Dirrans.Any comment?

Great result for the Dirrans.. Not shocked to here yous won the game.. Your team work very hard and always have good numbers at training. Good for the management team and the players to get results like this.. that shows that the hard work is paying off.

Well done.

West Kilbride 0 – Dirrans Athletic 5 (HT: 0-3)
On a day that a husky would have cowered at the back of a shed, Dirrans stood up to be counted.
West Kilbride started sluggishly but should have gone ahead when a freak bounce left the Dirrans’ goalie scrabbling to palm away a weak shot. The attending WK striker somehow missed a gaping goal. It was to be that type of day for the home side. Thereafter, Dirrans were in control. Using the gale force wind they pinned WK back for long periods with the home team being limited to a couple of decent crosses and corners. Dirrans scored 3 goals in the first half with the wee in form striker netting 2 (one from about 4 inches after a shot hit the bar) and the young right mid netting 1 with a decent shot. A feature of the first period (and pretty much most of the second) was that West Kilbride were determined to hold an offside line about a yard inside their half. Dirrans exploited this with good energy, passing and determination, the right back in particular sending some good through balls to set up attacks.
Apart from one very good reaction stop by the Dirrans’ (frozen) goalie, the expected 2nd half rally from WK didn’t come. With their number 3 on a booking for a last ditch tackle in the first half, he was booked for again hauling down a Dirran’s player through on goal. Down to 10 men, the Premier outfit used the wind and some good possession to peg the 2nd Division side back for a wee spell without ever threatening. Two cracking counter-attack goals (out of at least 6 decent chances) made the tie safe. The wee in form striker and the young right mid combined really well in settling the result. The home goalie was decent and saved at least two one-on-ones to keep the score respectable.
This must have been an off day for West Kilbride who are usually much better than they showed today. Fair play to both sides for surviving the Arctic wind chill and finishing the game standing up. The ref was consistent in giving soft-ish fouls for both but he tried hard to read the difficult conditions, their influence on tackling and got some marginal off side decisions right (or totally wrong, if you had a flag and supported WK).
Magnificent result for Dirrans who could only play the team put in front of them on the day. Best of luck to a sporting West Kilbride side who will need to forget this one quickly.
M.O.M. – Despite the wee in form striker getting a deserved hat-trick, a good debut by Dirrans’ number 10 and the centre backs being immense playing into the gale, they were all overshadowed by a stylish performance by Dirrans’ number 8. For the second game in a row, he played clever, calm football on a boggy pitch and he also got about the midfield to help his team when WK had possession. Outstanding.

I had to think if I'd slept right through to April the first when I heard this one. Then, I thought a misprint. But, Auldheid, you've confirmed it - am no losing it after all.
Amazing result today. I can't remember the last time a Kilwinning side won up at Kilbride.
Auldheid, why oh why don't you tell us all who these magical numbered ones are. You are being a tad unfair, for in particular this wee in form striker obviously deserves better recognition that he's been getting.
Anyhow, a nice wee KIlwinkie double the day. I was always confident of the Wolves and Dirrans achieving great things this season.......honest ;)

Alright Glenmuirthistle4.I have been a follower of the Dirrans this season Nd have been greatly entertained none more so than Saturdays game.Looking at the league table I thinkat least 6 or 7 teams in the top 10 have a chance of promotion.Hopefully weather permitting the game between yourselves ans the Dirrans goes ahead on Saturday it should be an interesting game.

Glenmuirthistle4: think I've said at least twice on here that 6 or 7 teams are well in the running for promotion, your team are in that pack. Kilbirnie must be favourites for the title. They're on a great run. Did Glenmuir no' beat them earlier in the season? Must be a decent side. Haven't seen them play yet. Looking forward to a good game. Hope the Sports Club is ok on Saturday.
