Due to injuries and work committments, Wishaw High School FPs find themselves needing to strenghten their playing squad before midweek games ( specifically strikers ) so if there are any good strikers out there not currently signed with anyone ( I know, I know ) send me a pm or contact through the website at

Kenny working away on the rigs now mate but still signed, Don't know if he was with us long enough to know how he would have been but certainly looked good pre-season and appeared to be enjoying it but like all amatuer players work comes first. Wish he was back every week as he would be a handful for a lot of defences.

No doubt all good stikers will be attracted to that bowling green of park you play on.

Nothing the matter wi the camp coo Matthewm21 that a good roll widnae cure. To be honest you're spot on and we'd love to move but options are very limited. Having said that good strikers would score in any conditions. The park is fine early in the season and at the end but has got steadily worse over the past 10 years mid winter time, that's why we try to utilise astro pitches when we can but it's not always an option in the area.

Gav was just really diappointed with the surface last year when we played yous in the 1/4s of the Scottish. I remember when the king george parks where the best about and got used for semi finals and finals. Can you not get the 3g at Wishaw sports centre or get the council to get their finger out and roll them?

Agree with your comments Matthewm21 and we're actively seeking an alternative but it's not easy trying to get the 3G at Wishaw on a serial let and the alternative grass pitches in and around Wishaw are no better than the King George. We've played a few times down in Hamilton this season and also on the 3G over at Holytown as well as Ravenscraig just to get matches on but when you play home games over at any of these venues, then the visiting side doesn't come back to your sponsors pub then you get them moaning ( quite rightly so ) that there not getting a turn. Don't suppose there is an easy answer to it. If you look in the Ayrshire forum you'll see many clubs down there struggling to get their local council to look after the grass pitches and pavillions as well due to lack of money. Can mind playing at the Rockburn wi The Carousel for years and it was never the best but always liked playing on the grass pitch at The Academy.

Agree with you on the Rockburn and its got worse. Problem with the Academy park is putting the goals up every week and in the winter its a non starter. We have managed to secure the 3g at the matt busby on a let but its wasted because our league allows teams to refuse to play on it. Although having played in the Lanarkshire yourself that prob does not come as a suprise.

Matthew surely in this day and age even the Lanarkshire Committee have got to see that allowing teams to knock back a game on an artificial surface is beyond a joke. Whilst I would agree that some are better than others, teams are doing themselves no favours by giving themselves a backlog of fixtures at the tail end of the season if they go down than route. In the West and Scottish you can't knock back a game on these surfaces and quite rightly so so why would your league have a different view on it or is this decision down to the teams. Most teams probably train on them midweek or even in a school hall etc during the winter months so a 3G shouldn't be an issue for a game. Is big Cheng still doing a turn for you's. Superb big player in his day. Tell him I'm asking for him mate.

Big cheng called it a day at the start of the season think between work shifts and family(not to mention age) was getting too much for him. Agree good big player. As far as 3g goes think they voted against it at a league meeting although they cant refuse in association cup games???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
